We are situated on the borders of Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge, and only a hours drive from London. 

Do kindly note however that you will need a car to get here as no local bus or train links.

Plenty of FREE onsite parking for all your guests and room for mini buses / coaches to park here too.

Nearest Town

The nearest town of Clare (just under 3 miles away) is a picturesque village famous for the Priory Ruins and Country Park. It also has a golf club, country walks and many tea shops and traditional pubs. There is also a post office in Clare and Country Park - ideal for a picnic.

Nearby Stoke by Clare also offers circular country walking routes.

Long Melford known for its two fabulous historic buildings Kentwell Hall and The National Trust's Melford Hall, are within 20 minutes drive. Suffolk is also well known as being home to many beautiful churches and outstanding country walks.

We are also just a short drive from Suffolk's historic market town of Bury St. Edmunds, with its extensive shopping area, Abbey and Gardens. Visit the famous horse racing track and museum at Newmarket, and don’t forget Newmarket nights, just a 30 minutes drive away. Explore Cambridge, the wonderful University City or try punting on the river Cam.

There are two local village pubs a short distance away, as well as a local village store and post office in Hundon.

Food Outlets

In Clare you will find a selection of local traditional pubs serving a range of different foods, as well as a fish and chip shop, Indian and Chinese restaurants and a Co-op store if you wish to buy provisions. The Plough Pub is just half a mile away and serves homemade food daily.

Haverhill (5 miles away) is a larger town which has a market on Friday’s and Saturdays’ They also have Fish and Chip , Kebab, and Pizza takeaway restaurants or Chinese, Indian, KFC and Subway restaurants for eat in or take away meals. Haverhill also has a Frankie and Benny’s, and Prezzo, as well as large Tesco and Sainsbury’s Stores Various local farmer markets take place at intervals throughout the year.

Tesco / Sainsbury and Waitrose will deliver to the door too.

Bowling The nearest bowling can be found in Bury St Edmunds.

Zoo and Gardens Just 12 miles away in Linton is a zoo and gardens www.lintonzoo.com A great place for a family day out.

Cambridge. Go Punting on the river Cam, or visit the world famous University and historical buildings. Shopping, from top stores to the busy marketplace, bars and restaurants can all be found in Cambridge, approx. 40 mins drive.
